SM City San Pablo joins the 22nd San Pablo Coco Festival

Philippine festivals are unlike any other, it’s a combination of nostalgia and excitement  that makes you want to stay and be part of the festivities. It is also a way to show gratitude to a town’s patron for a bountiful harvest.  Here in our beautiful city, we have been celebrating the coconut festival for 22 years now and its just keeps on getting bigger and better year after year.

SM City San Pablo have been an avid supporter of the festival- making the mall  the venue of choice for the pre pageant and coronation for the Munting Lakan and Mutya and the much awaited Talent Search Cocostar. The mall atrium for almost one week long is packed with enthusiasts  and  SM make sure to still provide a wonderful mall experience.Pre pageant for the Miss Gay and Lakan and Mutya are also held in the mall. The 4th CocoArt Contest was also held in the mall as students from various levels competed in painting coconut shells.

The City Tourism headed by Ms. Donna Briñas also initiated in reviving the “Art of Coconut leaf folding” by inviting Ms. Nicanora Hernandez of NCCA. It was a real treat for the shoppers as they had a free workshop on how to make beautiful art out of coconut leaves.

Cocofest  are known for their lively Mardigras  and colorful float parade held in the city plaza. SM City San Pablo, for this year, is the special attraction in the float parade. After becoming a Hall of Fame winner in 2016 – SM City San Pablo showcased a colorful under the sea themed float in support to this year’s theme “Cocofestival sa Makabagong Panahon, Inspirasyon ng susunod na Henerasyon”  hoping that the next generation will appreciate the enchanting beauty of the city of seven lakes

The town of San Pablo, Laguna is a very cultural and historical city. SM City San Pablo supports Mayor Amben Amante in promoting the Coconut Festival.
