Department of Education will once more lead from here today the nationwide launch of Brigada Eskwela, or National Schools Maintenance Week, that brings together the government and the private sector in ensuring the public schools will be ready to welcome back students this school year.
The annual Brigada Eskwela is what you can call the modern version of bayanihan where all sectors pitch in to make sure that our schools are clean, safe, disaster-prepared and conducive to learning when the students troop back to school.
This initiative started in 2003, volunteers from various government agencies and the private sector contribute their time, effort and resources to repair and clean up the public school facilities. SM City San Pablo thru its Employee Volunteerism Program and SM Cares , for this year, partners with San Pablo Central School for the Brigada Eskwela 2017.
SM City San Pablo HR Senior Manager Jaymee Guinto said that usually employees give their free time as they help spruce up school grounds. PR Manager of SM City San Pablo , Niña Wong said that it’s the Mall employees and Mall Guards have been actively participating in the clean up for the past years in Brigada Eskwela. This year however they would like to go beyond the clean up- SM City San Pablo is donating 15 First aid kit dedicated for the entire Grade 3 level of San Pablo Central School. SM San Pablo will be visiting San Pablo Central School this Saturday, May 20 2017 for the Brigada.
