Independence Day in SM City San Pablo

One of the most significant dates in the Philippine’s history is Independence Day because it marks the nation’s independence from the Spanish rule on June 12, 1898. Today marks the 119th Philippine Independent Day celebration and SM City San Pablo joins the nationwide flag raising ceremony by holding a simultaneous singing of the national anthem across all malls.


Mall employees, together with its mall tenants and affiliates,assembled in the mall front parking to sing the Philippine national anthem. The flag-raising ceremony every June 12th is an institutional celebration observed in all SM malls in the country and it is participated by the different communities in each mall’s locality, government and private organizations and known local celebrities and personalities.


This annual ceremony were attended by the mall’s employees and tenants who came in for work that day wearing national costumes and in shirts bearing the colors of the Philippine flag. Other delegations came  from the different government agencies and organizations–for this year the audience was dominated by the Philippine Boys Scout and Girls Scout. City Councilors Karla Adajar and City Councilor Arnel Ticzon also graced the event. Delagates from Seven Lakes International attended as well, Mr.Nanding Ticzon from Chicago , President of the Seven Lakes International said they were informed by the LGU that if you want to experience a different kind of Indepenedence day in San Pablo  better go to SM Mall. President of Kiwanis Club Mr Filmin Torres also attended the event and he was delighted to see the festivities.


Mall Manager GT Exconde said that SM Supermalls joins the entire nation in commemorating the 119th Philippine Indpenendent day and SM has added treat to all shoppers, SM malls held the Pinoy Fun sale ,enjoy great deals and discounts up to 70 percent off.
