“Mall Expansion in SM City San Pablo Begins”

SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SM Prime), the country’s top mall developer and operator, opened its 38th shopping mall last 2010 , the SM City San Pablo that we know today, in San Pablo City, Laguna Philippines. Now after 5 years SM Supermalls is renovating SM City San Pablo making it bigger and better for everyone. SM Supermalls plans a dramatic renovation of the property that includes new restaurants and global brands.

Bigger which means more fashion and food tenants are coming in the mall, more choices for the shoppers. Fine quality restaurants and bistros, global boutique-style retail offerings will soon open in the mall. Transformation is ongoing at the mall terminal converting it to leasable spaces. The mall will also house a cyber zone area and the company also plans to develop business process outsourcing (BPO) offices within the property. Now that’s exciting!

Better which means its leveling up the mall experience for the shoppers, making it convenient to shop with less hassle and expense of travel. The mall is said to be a one stop shop for every shopping need. New Food tenants already came in such as Razon’s of Guagua, Bagnetified- Now that’s Amazing!

SM Prime Vice Chairman and President Hans T. Sy said, “Laguna is a key area for our mall expansion, with its bustling cities, relative proximity to Metro Manila, and a thriving tourism industry.” According to Sy, he has always been bullish of Laguna’s growth.

SM City San Pablo currently has a leasable area of 34,169 sqm which has already been awarded to various tenants. The mall’s anchor tenants are SM Supermarket and SM Department Store. It also offers a business center and four SM cinemas with a combined seating capacity of about 1,400. SM City San Pablo also provides parking slots for over 600 vehicles. The terminal for public utility vehicles is temporarily transferred in parking A in front of SM Supermarket.

The first phase of expansion is said to be done by October 2016 and the mall is said to be fully operational by April 2017. It is envisioned that the mall to be approximately double its current size.
